Work Pass Applications

Navigating through each step of a work pass application can be daunting and time-consuming. Leave the hard work to us.

Employment Pass (EP): For foreign professionals, managers, and executives. To qualify, a candidate must have an acceptable educational qualification and a minimum monthly salary. The minimum salary for new applications is subject to change but is generally higher for older and more experienced candidates. The EP also requires the employer to meet the Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS) criteria.

S Pass: For mid-level skilled staff who meet a specific monthly salary threshold and possess relevant educational qualifications. S Pass applications are subject to a foreign worker quota, and employers must pay a levy.

Work Permit: For semi-skilled and unskilled foreign workers from approved source countries, primarily in specific sectors like construction, manufacturing, and services. There is no minimum salary, but the employer must adhere to a quota and pay a monthly levy.

Personalised Employment Pass (PEP):A flexible pass for high-earning foreign professionals and existing EP holders. It is not tied to a specific employer and allows the holder to stay in Singapore for up to six months while unemployed to find a new job.

Overseas Networks & Expertise (ONE) Pass: A specialized pass for top talent in various fields, including business, arts, and research, with a high salary or outstanding achievements. It offers flexibility to work for multiple companies.

What is the COMPASS framework?

COMPASS is a points-based assessment system for Employment Pass applicants. It evaluates a candidate based on Salary, Qualifications, Diversity (of nationality within the firm), and Support for Local Employment. Candidates must score a minimum of 40 points to pass.

Yes. EP and S Pass holders who earn a minimum fixed monthly salary (currently S$6,000) are generally eligible to apply for a Dependant’s Pass (DP) for their legally married spouse and unmarried children under 21.
The employer or an officially appointed Employment Agent (EA) (which is our firm) must submit the application on behalf of the candidate via the MOM’s online portal (EP Online or WP Online). The candidate cannot apply for themselves.

Processing times vary, but typically:

  • Employment Pass (EP): Around 3 weeks for online applications.
  • S Pass: Around 3 weeks for online applications.
  • Work Permit (WP): Around 1 week for most cases.

Complex cases or those requiring external verification may take significantly longer.

If a pass application is rejected, the employer/agent can file an appeal with MOM. Our firm will review the rejection reasons provided by MOM, address any missing information or compliance issues, and submit a detailed written appeal, usually within 90 days of the rejection date.
